The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) is a global organisation working with farmers to improve environmental conditions and livelihoods.

Better Cotton is produced following farm-level standards addressing pesticide use, water efficiency, and worker health and safety. 

To trade Better Cotton, supply chain partners like producer organisations, traders, yarn spinners, brands, and retailers become BCI members. 

In the 2017-2018 cotton season, two million BCI farmers in 21 countries produced 5.1 million metric tonnes of Better Cotton lint, accounting for 19% of global cotton production.
